About This Trail

Earth Day Nature Trail is a self-guided coastal boardwalk and nature trail at the Georgia DNR Coastal Resources Division headquarters in Brunswick. The trail crosses salt marsh flats, tidal pond areas, and coastal hammock habitat, giving visitors an easy way to experience Georgia’s marsh ecosystem close to town.

The trail is especially useful for families, birdwatchers, photographers, school groups, and travelers looking for a short but meaningful coastal nature stop. Features may include educational signage, observation decks, an osprey or eagle nesting platform, an outdoor pavilion, and views across marsh and tidal habitat. The route is short, but the scenery and interpretation make it valuable.

Before visiting, check current access, daylight hours, and any posted notices. Stay on boardwalks and marked paths, bring insect protection, and give birds and other wildlife plenty of space.

Trail Notes

Earth Day Nature Trail is a short marsh boardwalk with observation areas, educational signage, and sensitive coastal habitat. Always leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in, and if you see trash, pick it up and pack it out.

Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and do not rely only on a mobile phone to find your way. Practice good trail etiquette, yield appropriately on shared-use trails, and check the trailhead kiosk, official maps, park office, refuge office, visitor center, city/county website, or land manager for notices about changed routes, closures, safety information, fees, wildlife activity, and restrictions before you go.
