About This Trail
Chattahoochee Bend State Park Trails give visitors access to one of Georgia’s largest state parks, with riverfront hiking, wooded routes, granite outcrops, and quiet Piedmont scenery near Newnan. The park protects a broad bend of the Chattahoochee River, making it an important trail and paddling destination for west-central Georgia.
The trail system includes routes for shorter walks as well as longer outings, including riverside hiking and loops through forested terrain. Visitors can combine a hike with camping, paddling, fishing, or a weekend stay in the park. Because the trail system covers a large park landscape, it is important to choose the right trailhead and mileage before starting.
Before visiting, check state park hours, parking fees, trail conditions, and river-related advisories. Bring water, navigation, and sun protection, and use caution near riverbanks, wet rocks, and remote sections of the park.
Trail Notes
Chattahoochee Bend includes a large riverfront trail system with multiple hiking routes. Always leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in, and if you see trash, pick it up and pack it out.
Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and do not rely only on a mobile phone to find your way. Practice good trail etiquette, yield appropriately on shared-use trails, and check the trailhead kiosk, official maps, park office, or ranger office for notices about changed routes, closures, safety information, fees, and restrictions before you go.
