About This Trail
Anna Ruby Falls Trail is one of North Georgia’s most accessible and rewarding waterfall walks, leading from the visitor area to twin waterfalls formed by Curtis Creek and York Creek. The route is paved and relatively short, making it a strong choice for families, first-time visitors, and anyone who wants a classic mountain waterfall experience near Helen without committing to a long hike.
Although the trail is easy to follow, it climbs steadily and may feel more strenuous than the mileage suggests. The shaded forest, creek sounds, and waterfall viewing area make it a memorable stop on a Helen, Unicoi State Park, or Chattahoochee National Forest trip. Because it is popular and close to major visitor areas, expect crowds during peak seasons, weekends, and good-weather afternoons.
Before visiting, confirm current operating hours, fees, parking, and any temporary closures. Wear shoes with traction, stay on the paved path and designated viewing areas, and use care around wet pavement, railings, and crowded overlook spaces.
Trail Notes
Anna Ruby Falls Trail is a short paved waterfall walk, but the route climbs steadily and can be wet or crowded near the falls. Wear shoes with good traction, stay behind railings and barriers, and use extra care around slick pavement and viewing areas.
Always leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in, and if you see trash, pick it up and pack it out.
Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and do not rely only on a mobile phone to find your way. Practice good trail etiquette, yield appropriately on shared-use trails, and check the trailhead kiosk, official maps, park office, or ranger office for notices about changed routes, closures, safety information, fees, and restrictions before you go.
