About This Trail

Arabia Mountain PATH is a long paved regional trail through the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, connecting parks, neighborhoods, granite outcrops, forests, lakes, and historic landscapes east of Atlanta. The route is useful for walkers, runners, cyclists, and families because it offers many access points and the flexibility to plan anything from a short paved outing to a longer ride.

Although the trail is paved and generally accessible, it is not simply flat or urban. Rolling grades, open sunny sections, road crossings, and changing scenery make route planning important. Visitors can use the PATH to connect highlights such as Arabia Mountain, Panola Mountain, Vaughters’ Farm, and nearby community trailheads, depending on distance and comfort level.

Before visiting, choose your access point and turnaround plan carefully. Bring water and sun protection, share the path with other users, and slow down near road crossings, curves, families, and busier trail sections.

Trail Notes

Arabia Mountain PATH is a paved multi-use trail, but its hills, road crossings, and shared-use traffic still require attention. Cyclists should control speed, walkers should stay aware of passing bikes, and everyone should watch for heat and sun exposure on open sections.

Always leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in, and if you see trash, pick it up and pack it out.

Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and do not rely only on a mobile phone to find your way. Practice good trail etiquette, yield appropriately on shared-use trails, and check the trailhead kiosk, official maps, park office, or ranger office for notices about changed routes, closures, safety information, fees, and restrictions before you go.
