About This Trail
Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center Trails give visitors access to a wildlife-focused outdoor landscape at Clybel Wildlife Management Area near Mansfield. The area includes nature center resources, fishing lakes, wildlife habitat, and trail opportunities that work well for families, birdwatchers, hikers, and visitors interested in Georgia’s Piedmont habitats.
The trail experience is tied closely to wildlife education and habitat observation. Visitors may use the area for a short nature walk, a longer multi-use outing, or as part of a broader visit to the wildlife center and Marben Public Fishing Area. Because this is a WMA setting, users should pay attention to seasonal rules, hunting dates, and posted access information.
Before visiting, check Georgia DNR information for hours, licenses or passes if needed, hunting closures, and trail conditions. Bring water, insect protection, and binoculars if wildlife viewing is part of the plan.
Trail Notes
Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center trails are part of a wildlife management and education landscape. Always leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in, and if you see trash, pick it up and pack it out.
Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and do not rely only on a mobile phone to find your way. Practice good trail etiquette, yield appropriately on shared-use trails, and check the trailhead kiosk, official maps, park office, or ranger office for notices about changed routes, closures, safety information, fees, and restrictions before you go.
