About This Trail
Helton Creek Falls Trail is a short waterfall hike near Blairsville that leads to scenic cascades in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The trail’s easy mileage and quick payoff make it a popular stop for families, waterfall seekers, and visitors exploring Vogel State Park, Blood Mountain, or the surrounding North Georgia high country.
Even though the hike is brief, the waterfall setting deserves caution. The path, stairs, viewing area, and rocks can become slick after rain or during high-flow conditions. Visitors should stay on the designated trail and observation areas, avoid climbing around the falls, and keep children close near wet rock and moving water.
Before visiting, check road access, weather, and current Forest Service conditions. Parking may be limited during busy times, so plan ahead and be ready to adjust if the area is full or conditions are unsafe.

Always leave no trace, pack out everything you pack in, and if you see trash, pick it up and pack it out.
Stay on the marked trail, tell someone where you're going, pack safety and wayfinding essentials, and do not rely only on a mobile phone to find your way. Practice good trail etiquette, yield appropriately on shared-use trails, and check the trailhead kiosk, official maps, park office, or ranger office for notices about changed routes, closures, safety information, fees, and restrictions before you go.
