Photo Contribution Policy

We want the gallery to show Georgia through the eyes of the people who explore it. This policy explains what you agree to when you send us a photograph.

Policy version: September 29, 2026

1. You keep ownership of your photograph

Submitting a photograph does not transfer ownership to GeorgiaOutdoors.com. You continue to own your photograph and may use it elsewhere.

2. You give GeorgiaOutdoors.com permission to use it

By submitting a photograph, you grant GeorgiaOutdoors.com a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, publish, and use the photograph on GeorgiaOutdoors.com and in materials that promote GeorgiaOutdoors.com or its content.

This permission includes ordinary technical preparation for web use, such as resizing, cropping, compressing, creating thumbnails, adjusting orientation, and converting the file to another image format. We will not intentionally make a material change to the subject matter of your photograph without separate permission.

3. You must have the right to submit the photograph

You confirm that you took the photograph or otherwise own the rights needed to give us this permission. Please do not submit photographs copied from social media, another website, a professional photographer, a tourism organization, or any other source unless you have authority to grant these rights.

4. Recognizable people

If recognizable people appear in your photograph, you confirm that you have permission to allow its publication. If a recognizable minor appears, you confirm that the appropriate parent or legal guardian has authorized publication.

5. Credit is your choice

You may ask us to credit your name, provide a specific public credit line, or publish the photograph without a public photographer credit. We may shorten or standardize a credit line for display, but we will not substitute another photographer's name.

6. Submission does not guarantee publication

All photographs are reviewed before publication. GeorgiaOutdoors.com may choose not to publish a submission, may decide where and how an approved photograph appears, and may remove a photograph from public display at any time.

7. Appropriate content only

Do not submit photographs that are unlawful, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, sexually explicit, intentionally deceptive, or unrelated to Georgia outdoor recreation, travel, nature, wildlife, communities, or events. Do not submit images that reveal sensitive locations when publication could reasonably endanger wildlife, protected resources, or private property.

8. Your contact information stays private

Your email address is collected so we can contact you about the submission if needed. It is not intended to appear publicly in the gallery.

9. Requests to remove a photograph

If you later want us to stop displaying a photograph you submitted, contact info@georgiaoutdoors.com. We will make reasonable efforts to remove the photograph from future public display on GeorgiaOutdoors.com. Removal does not require us to retrieve copies that may already exist in backups, caches, or materials previously produced.

10. Agreement at submission

The upload form requires you to affirmatively agree to this policy before a photograph can be submitted. We record the policy version and the date and time of that agreement with the submission.

Plain-English summary: Send only photographs you have the right to share. You keep ownership. You give GeorgiaOutdoors.com permission to use the photograph on the site and in promotion of the site. We may prepare it for web display, credit you if requested, and decide whether or where to publish it.

This policy is intended as a practical operating policy for GeorgiaOutdoors.com. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before public launch.
