Canoochee Sandhills WMA
Canoochee Sandhills Wildlife Management Area is located in Bulloch and Bryan counties near Groveland. This 10,224-acre WMA is a mix of sandhill, flatwoods, bay swamp, and floodplain forests bordering Lotts Creek. Many sandy uplands are remnants of ancient wind-blown river dune formations and provide important habitat for gopher tortoises and other high-priority species. Hunting opportunities include deer, turkey, and small game, along with blackwater creek fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Confirm current access, licenses, seasons, and WMA regulations before visiting.
